Boldly before the throne

How blessed we are that we do not have to travel far to a temple for a priest to pray for us, but we have an advocate at the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf, that we have the freedom to come before the throne of our Heavenly Father and to seek that personal relationship with our Creator the God most High.

Hebrews 4:10-12,14-16
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We serve a mighty and wonderful God, who seeks a personal relationship with us, a God whose very heart is toward His people, desiring that none should perish but that we all would come to Him and find our way home.

We have all gone astray, missing the point of our existence and pursued hungrily and voraciously things not meant for us, things worthy of punishment and condemnation, but our God in His great mercy thought it not enough to justly punish us, but rather paved a way for us to find not only forgiveness, but restoration and reconciliation.

In times far off man was separated from God by our sins, but now we can approach God’s throne, through the bridge of the cross, not that the cross itself is anything, but what Jesus did and accomplished on the cross, bearing the weight of our iniquities on himself, bearing the burden of punishment, that we might have a hope.

Now, each of us can come to God as we are, and find love and a rest, for salvation belongs to those who believe.

God has never wanted His people to perish, we find the truth of this throughout the scriptures,

John 3:16-18; Ezekiel 18:32; 2 Peter 3:9 and many more.

Today we do not have to travel to make a sacrifice and ask a high priest to atone for our sins that we may be cleansed, for we have a better high priest, an eternal priest who sits at the right hand of the Father, who has washed us once and forever through the atoning power of His blood.

Now, we may with all boldness to the throne of the Father, and bring our petitions, requests, praise and worship, with joy and love in our hearts.

Be blessed brothers and sisters, and come this day boldly to your Father with whatever may be on your heart, knowing He hears you and desires to bless you, amen.
